I’m a first time home buyer. Had zero knowledge on home buying process. On a Thursday evening, I attended a open house and I met Ryan there. He was so friendly and offered if any pre-approval, questions etc., on Loan process I can reach out to him anytime. I’m a platinum customer with a popular bank and I told him I may not need his assistance. Next day, I went to the popular bank for pre-approval, and did not get their appointment. Monday is also bank holiday due to long weekend. Since I couldn’t get a pre-approval from bank, I gave a call to Ryan. Ryan is the best mortgage lender I have work with. I have gone through the buying process before but none of the other experiences came close to working with Ryan. It felt like he was working with us day and night, phone calling and text messaging. He made it possible for us to buy in some of the toughest market for the buyers. Ryan was not a type of lender that would give you the pre-approval letter and let you go find your dream house. I think this is where many people got into trouble, where they would go out and find their dream house and only come to find out that for some reason or another we’re not able to get the mortgage for the house. So the dream house remains as a dream. This actually happened to us where we were working with a lender for over a year trying to buy this house. At the end we decided to walk away from it.

Working with Ryan was not anything like that, he was with us every step of the way. It felt like he went to every open house with us and saw every house we went to see. He was not afraid to tell us no when we were about to put in an offer for this property that probably had every buyer in town making an offer. We ended up taking his advice and moved on. Event if we had made an offer and was the highest offer, we would not get the house because of the ridiculous demands made by the seller.

Anyway we finally found our dream house and Ryan and his team was able to make it into reality. He event helped us with the price negotiations and we end up buying the house for a lot less than the asking price, which was very surprised because every house that comes on the market during that time in Shrewsbury usually sell the following week for the asking price or higher.

I can keep going about working with Ryan, but the bottom line is I think he is just good at what he does and he is just better than most people in his business. Well there is one more thing I want to share with you. I had three other closing prior to this one and every one of them was delayed and there were extension after extension. Ryan really surprised me that there was no delay or extension on this closing.

I recently purchased a home and used Diego Ciccarelli from Drew Mortgage as my Loan Officer. Diego’s knowledge, combined with his professionalism is absolutely unbeatable. He is well organized, thorough and explains the loan process in detail.

I was in awe watching this man “do his thing”. He worked the numbers, percentages, closing costs, with such ease and confidence. At times, I could not keep up with his expertise, so I would have to interrupt him and ask him for further explanation. Not only did Diego break it down for me, he handed me pen, paper and a calculator, and then waited patiently for me to work the numbers myself to ensure I understood. I NEVER felt rushed or pressured.

He was interested in ‘my’ plans, i.e. would I be keeping the house long term? Is this house a flipper? Armed with that information, he went on to teach me about all the various loan options (I had no idea there were so many), and showed me the difference between them. He further explained how I would benefit from Loan A, but, in the long run Long B could also be beneficial, etc..

Another perc of working with Diego was that he met with me as many times as I had requested, and immediately returned all of my phones and texts.

You’ll start with a series of phone calls generally outlining the process, followed by really good communication via email and/or phone. This isn’t someone you’ll have trouble getting in touch with.

If I had to pick a “con”, if you will, there were a few times I had a question, but I couldn’t work it in during Ryan’s explanation of a processes, so just have a pen and paper ready. I chalk this up to his passion of his industry, and is not a criticism at all. Additionally something to be aware of not just with Ryan, but with anyone. You’re going to receive emails that are just a wall of 17 deliverables that need to be delivered immediately. And if you get 4 done, you’ll receive another email of the remaining 13 deliverables that need to be done immediately. But again, this is more a criticism of the process, and more likely the regulatory nature of buying a home post-housing crash.
